Building Permits
- Seller is responsible to provide to Buyer copies of any Building Permits that they have.
- Seller may not have copies of Building Permits.
- Buyer may go to the City Building Department to obtain copies of permits that may have been issued.
- Buyer may discover that a permit was never “issued” or may not have been “finaled” by the Building Department. This is important information for the Buyer to consider during the Buyer Investigation Period.
- Agents are never to go to the City Offices on behalf of the Buyer for building permits, rent-control information, or other information. It is the Buyer’s responsibility only.
- This is also true for “investigating” leases, liens, or warranties that may apply to the sale.
