How to Renew Your Real Estate License

In order for you to continue practicing real estate, your license must be renewed before it expires.

You may use eLicensing or submit your renewal application 90 days prior to your license expiration date.  Do not wait until the last minute!  Renewing your license is a process and takes time.

Renewing your real estate license requires that you fulfill the educational requirements of the Bureau of Real Estate.

Do not attempt to renew your license on paper.  Due to the length of time for processing and the requirement for original signatures, eLicensing is the only method we use to renew licenses.

Here are the steps to renew:

  1. Start by finding a Course Provider
  2. Take the courses and obtain your certificate of completion.
  3. Add your course information to eLicensing.
  4. Your broker will certify your renewal. (Salespersons only, Broker Associates are not certified by our broker).
  5. Check your license to verify your updated expiration date.

Per the BRE:  http://www.dre.ca.gov/Licensees/RenewLicense.html

The secure eLicensing online system offers expedited processing of salesperson and broker license renewals any time or day of the week. eLicensing is easy to use, paperless and interactive. Licensees enter information needed for license renewal into eLicensing, including the course number and completion date of continuing education courses taken. Continuing education requirements must be completely satisfied in order to renew through eLicensing. Acceptable methods of payment include VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards or debit cards bearing a VISA or MasterCard logo.
