I took a Listing so what are the next steps

Congratulations on your NEW listing!

Steps to be taken:

  1. Give copy of listing agreement to MCA or Assistant MCA right away and of course to your client.   If the home is not going on the MLS for a period of time, please include the CAR Form  SELM and also send this form to your local board and to MCA/Assistant MCA/Transaction Coordinator.
  2. Please give a copy to your Transaction Coordinator.
  3. Prepare the required Listing Disclosures to go over with your seller(s).  On the KW Intranet, the listing Checklist of required forms are found there.  Or please have your Transaction Coordinator prepare so you can meet with your seller to review and complete.
  4. Marketing/Lockbox and Photography/Order Sign post to be installed—All these items and more to start lining up right when you take the listing.**Our office has many recommendations for Sign companies, marketing, photographers.  Lock boxes can be purchased at your local Board of Realtors.
  5. Discuss with Seller Broker’s Tour dates and times.
  6. Add your Listing to the MLS within 1 day or as per SELM. If it is not going on the MLS, you MUST complete the SELM form, have your Team Leader sign and send to the Board within 1 day.
  7. You can add Broker’s tours/Open Houses to your MLS listing.
  8. Communicate with your Seller as frequently as possible all the steps you are taking to sell their home.
