Lead Generation

I have often heard an agent say, “I have a farm but I’m not doing anything with it.” Once you’ve made the decision to move from a “marketing-based” agent to a “lead generation” agent, you will need a plan.  When using lead generation pick one method and DO IT CONSISTENTLY. There are so many ways to generate leads, but none of them work unless you focus on it, commit to it and create a marketing strategy to manage it.

Here’s a few lead gen activities you can select from.

  • Open Houses
  • Work a geographic/demographic farm
  • Online ads such as Google or Facebook
  • Develop a monthly newsletter
  • Email your database weekly
  • Print Advertising
  • Expand your SOI
  • Develop a referral network with business owners
  • Call on expireds or FSBOs

Whatever method you chose to participate in, consistency is key, literally!

In his bestselling book, The Millionaire Real Estate Agent, Gary Keller equates choosing between lead quality and lead quantity to the kind of gasoline you choose to put in your car: “The octane of your fuel is irrelevant if you don’t have enough to get to your destination.”
